About Me
Ever since the blur of letters shaped into sounds and then stories for me in kindergarten, words have played a significant role in my life.
The first time I can remember publicly presenting a creative work of my own was around age eight, as part of a girls' club performance for their families. Shortly before the dress rehearsal, I second-guessed myself and swapped out my initial poem choice for a different one I had written--which just happened to be shorter--about my older sister's pet rat terrier, George.
As a teenager, I journalled extensively, wrote numerous homeschool assignments and 4-H speeches (some of which won high awards!) and frequently was bitten by a story or poem that would not let go until I had put the words to paper.
Story structure and character development fascinate me. I love to use words like "third plot point" and "characteristic moments." If those don't mean much to you, that's what I'm here for--to hold the pulse so you don't have to...but I get so excited over story that you might just find yourself catching the bug.
My faith as an evangelical Christian believer is important to me. I work to infuse core values of kindness, justice, faithfulness, and trustworthiness into my work, regardless of your personal identity and beliefs--but I understandably may not be a great fit for every document and manuscript.
